Buckman is a paramedic and an organ donor coordinator working in the wilds of Kentucky. He is also a husband and a father. Occasionally he fancies himself to be a writer, hence the blog. He tries to make sense out of his odd and varied experiences here. You are welcome to witness this train wreck but the experience can be disorienting. Don't go swimming for at least thirty minutes.

You did your job and you did it well. The admins at the place should have presented a DNR if there was one, but they didn't, so you had to talk to the family. Their emotions and ignorance led to things getting fucked up. Luckily this wasn't the case for the doctors and nurses so they had it easier to do the right thing.

Old lady got her wish, though not how she wanted; but family got their wish by seeing someone care about saving her and trying to do something about it.
